one billion

Just sent this email out to the team... figured I'd share up here as well:


So here we are, one billion later. We passed the billion mark at 9:21pm and don't worry, we stuck around to ring the gong (three times). I know we've been saying it took us a year, but if you think about it it actually took us much less. We served only 30 million ads in our first six months. You can actually check out the waybackmachine capture of the site back in late May to see where we were (and what we looked like). So if you think about it, 970 million of the billion happened in the last six months, which is an unbelievable number.

This milestone means a lot to me personally, and it means a great deal to us as a company. It's really a testament to all the hard work each and every one of you has put in. It's a rare pleasure in our industry to work on something that ends up with significant traction, and I'm just happy to be a part of it. I look forward to the days when a billion doesn't seem like such a big deal! :)

Congrats Omar and all team for your great success!

I must confess, I couldn't foresee the potential of Admob and the advantages it brings to us publishers at first months but it's also because system was working like a link exchange, I tried but I saw only other publishers banners.. After a few months you've improved the system and big publishers and advertisers have begun to join Admob. This was the beginning of revolution and I haven't missed anything :)
